Major's Park,

East Aurora

Visited November 11, 2021

441 Olean Road, East Aurora, New York

50-59 degrees Fahrenheit 10:10 AM - 11:35 AM, breezy

No toilets available

Dogs on lead welcome. Designated waste container near park entrance.

I would allow 1 to 1.5 hours

We circled many of the paths and totaled 2.15 miles.

The paths were mowed grass, dirt, gravel, or boardwalk...all very nice and mostly level with no steep inclines.

My friend and I had the paths to ourselves except for a mother and son jogging; we also passed a young couple when we were close to the creek.

No trash on or near the trails today.

No mosquitos today.

Parking: Gravel, will accommodate 10+ vehicles

My friend Melissa and I saw a chipmunk, a Mallard couple, the white underwings of a raptor flying away at a distance, many varieties of apple trees, grape vines, oaks, willows, primrose, sycamores, goldenrod, Queen Anne's lace, teasel, burdock, and some invasive species I do not know.

“It was November--the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.”

L. M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
