Dunkirk Harbor and Breakwall

Visited October 30, 2021

Dunkirk, New York

55-60 degrees Fahrenheit 1:37 PM - 2:10 PM, breezy

Porta potties are available on the pier

Dogs on lead welcome but I would not recommend bringing them.

I would allow 3/4 hours

The break wall was less than a mile.

The break wall is a flat concrete path.

My friend and I had the path to ourselves. We passed four people on the sidewalk walking to and from the break wall from the parking lot at Demetri's. I have wanted to walk here for ages and today as we looked out the window from our lunch table, we realized the rain had stopped so we stepped out to explore after paying our bill. We walked single file on the break wall. It is pretty narrow.

No trash on the trail but trash was floating in the water and blankets had been abandoned on the beach.

No mosquitos today.

Parking: Paved

My friend Stacy and I saw Lake Erie waves, a goose, a dead duck, a few live ducks, and some invasive species I do not know.
