Parking and entrance to the trail was free (during National Shutdown).
Dogs on leads were allowed
Most of the trail overlapped the Appalachian Trail. Their hike was around 3.7 miles long with an elevation gain of 1210 feet. The trail was clearly marked.
The entire trail was natural, mostly dirt and rocks.
They shared the trail with many hikers and dogwalkers.
The trail was mostly shaded.
There was no trash to be seen.
There were some biting insects and many spotted lanternflies.
Wearing shorts would not be a problem as there were no briars.
They spotted lantern flies, Virginia black rat snakes, chipmunks, ferns, and rocks. In the park, but not on the trail, they saw deer and turkey.
