Indianapolis, Indiana: Walking Tours by Indiana Landmarks  

Tour began at the Indianapolis Convention Center as an event I selected through my Gen Con badge.

70s-80s degrees Fahrenheit, mix of cloudy, sprinkles, and full sun 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Restroom facilities were available in the Indianapolis Convention Center.

Wesley did not go to Gen Con with us so I did not check on whether Indiana Landmarks allows dogs on their walking tours.  

I walked almost 2 miles. Signing up for walking tours in a city I was visiting was a great way to learn about the area and during my future travels, I may do this rather than doing my solo walks.  

Most of the walking was on sidewalks.  

The volunteer docent shared interesting information and safely led us through the city, its construction zones, and crosswalks to the park and back to the convention center.

Parking: There are parking garages near the Indianapolis Convention Center.

I did not see any trash in the areas we walked.

I was not bothered by mosquitos.

I saw a variety of art installations, a duck, oak trees, willow trees, and an Ohio Buckeye Tree.

The event that brought me to Indianapolis: Gen Con | Gen Con Indy 2026 

One of the restaurants I passed on the walk and then ate at that night was Weber Grille.  Their service was pleasant and efficient.  The pretzel rolls, steak, and fries were great.  Best Indianapolis Restaurant for Group Dining | Offering Private Dining, Catering, On Site Grilling & Happy Hour | Weber Grill Restaurant
