I drove with a friend so I did not use Google Maps, but we parked on Onondaga Park Drive near Parkside Avenue.
Listed on the park's website as: Upper Onondaga Park, 50 Onondaga Park Dr E, Strathmore, NY
Parking: I rode with a friend who lives locally. We entered the park near Hiawatha Lake.
Parking: Paved roadside with room for 8+ vehicles.
63+ degrees with rain 9:50-10:20 AM
I did not look for bathrooms.
There is no admission fee
Open Dawn to Dusk
Wesley was not with me, so I did not look for rules regarding dogs.
Until we left the paved path along Onondaga Park Drive, a stroller would easily navigate the area.
My friend and I walked for about one mile. The paved trail (the Monday Mile Trail) circled the park and Hiawatha Lake. We left the trail to explore the area near the lake. The park included a variety of tree species. We saw the frisbee golf stations, the park pool, the gazebo, and the lake. Despite the rain, the park was beautiful. When we first entered the park, I noticed elements that reminded me of Delaware Park in Buffalo. After looking at the Park Magnet website linked below, I learned that Olmstead did also work with development of Onondaga Park.
I did not see any poison ivy.
We saw a few people out on this wet morning.
I did not see trash in this beautiful park.
The mosquitos did not bother me in my rain coat.
We saw squirrels and a cormorant. There were a variety of tree species including large, gorgeous oak trees.
