Town of Ellery Park

Address: I used Google Maps to get to Town of Ellery Park, Greenhurst, Bemus Point, NY.    

I parked in the largest lot.  It was near the memorial garden and flag pole.

Parking: Room for 40+ cars, dirt parking lots near the trail and picnic shelters and another lot on the other side of the park near the baseball field.

75 degrees at 1:09 PM - 1:25 PM, sunny with a nice breeze

Public restroom facilities available, I believe, but I did not look for them

The trail is free.

Leashed dogs are permitted. Wesley stayed home today because I was stopping by after an appointment.  I saw a dog happily walking with their person as I was finishing the trail.

The trail is paved and mostly level.  

I walked the Red Loop counterclockwise for .61 miles. The sign says the Blue Route would be .58 miles.

A stroller would probably navigate this trail easily.  

I had the trail to myself except for 1 person I saw using the Blue Route, 2 young people at the side of the route, 1 person I passed going clockwise, and 1 person with a dog who was ahead of me for the second half of the route.  There were many young people enjoying the playground area in the middle of this park.  This is a nice park with a variety of playing fields, courts, playground, and two shelters.

I did not see any trash.  There was a person mowing the park today.

No mosquitos were out today.

This is a trail where shorts would not be a problem if staying on the paved trail.  

There is poison ivy and Virginia creeper at the wooded edge of the Red Route.

I saw a hawk flying overhead, and a variety of tree species including oak, maple, staghorn sumac, and cherry.
