The pier beach and the Main Street beach both have a short section of Lake Erie beach, less than a half mile. The beach that is accessed at the end of Main Street is mostly gravel and pebbles which are pretty as the waves hit them. We walked to the break wall where my daughter took a photo of a US Survey marker. We enjoy stumbling upon these on our various hikes. We were able to visit the lighthouse property even though the buildings were closed.

No cost for parking or park access.

Many people were enjoying both locations on this sunny afternoon: swimming, walking dogs, and sitting on the beach soaking up the rays. I am impressed and surprised that I was able to get photos without people in them. My family joined me for this outing but we left Wesley at home where it was much cooler. It was really nice to hear the waves from Lake Erie this afternoon.

We saw sweet peas on the bank between parking and the lighthouse. We saw a kill deer, Canada geese, and sea gulls.

The pier and beach are open dawn to dusk.
