I would allow an hour or more to explore; budget additional time if you want to throw axes. The trail was 1.5 miles of uneven terrain. It is a bit cooler here because of the rocks and the trees' shade so it was a perfect place to visit today.

Shorts are okay unless you plan on crawling on the rocks and would prefer long pants.

The gravel and tree-rooted trails were mostly single file with many spur trails to explore. I strongly recommend good grippy-soled sandals or hiking shoes. The footing is more tricky if the trail is wet so I choose to go when we have had dry weather.

Mosquitos respected the hat and bug spray.

$6.25-$8.25 to hike the trail; registering on line beforehand is recommended

Parking: Paved lot with space for 10+ vehicles.

My friend, Stacy, and I saw cherry, birch, and maple trees. Asters were near the trail head.
